Ignorance: (adj) lacking in knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact. Ignorance is a very strong word, and in my opinion it applies to the situation in Uganda. Many Americans are ignorant and completely unaware of the horrific events taking place overseas in these African countries. Children are being abducted, removed from their families, and trained into killing machines. Their innocence is stolen as well as any form of childhood. What is unfortunate is the lack of knowledge of not only Americans, but the rest of the world. On top of that, the lack of help these countries receive. I too was ignorant of these happenings until this year when I not only joined a program called Unified for Uganda but also read some novels on the topic.
In writing this blog I hope to accomplish two things: one being to simply educate the readers on the gruesome situation in Uganda. But secondly, I'd like to inspire my audience to make a difference. I shall achieve these goals in upcoming posts.
